This may have something to do with the long Black Friday weekend, as well as the Steam Autumn Sale 2021, which runs until December 1. While this number is all-encompassing, including anyone using Steam for any purpose, almost eight million of those users were live in-game when the high was recorded. PC Gamer reports that on Sunday, November 28, Steam set a new record of 27 million concurrent users. That traffic seems to have propelled Valve to another new high. With sales running often, especially around the holidays, the platform sees a pretty consistently high amount of traffic. Although Steam goes down with semi-frequency, it’s available when needed for the most part. A concurrent users record was broken during the Steam Autumn Sale 2021, making the Black Friday weekend a particularly good one for the store.
